Kathryn "Kathy" M. (Hunter) Shell

SHELL, KATHRYN M., 76, Northern Cambria, passed away July 20, 2023, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  Born March 30, 1947, in Spangler, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Boyer) Hunter.  Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, William J. Shell Jr., who died December 26, 2015; son, William J. Shell III; and brother, Robert Hunter.  Survived by daughter, Carrie, wife of Edward Shovestull, Northern Cambria; grandsons, Ryan (Meghan) & Matthew (Bryanna) Shell, Nicholas & Benjamin Shovestull; and great-grandson, Ryan Shell Jr.  Also survived by sister, Shirley Stoltz, Seneca, PA; brothers-in-law; and sisters-in-law, Patrick & Sherry Shell, Annette Shell, and Janice (Jay) Clark.  Kathy will also be missed by her cats, Samy and Lucky.   Employed as a Clerk and Assistant Manager for Sheetz Stores for 27 years.  Member of St. Benedict Presbyterian Church and VFW Post 343 Ladies Auxiliary.  In her free time, she enjoyed trips to the casinos, playing cards with friends, and traveling.  She was happiest just spending time with her family and friends.  Kathy had a very kind and gentle nature and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  Family and friends will be received from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday.  Pastor Marty Cartmell officiating.
