Kenneth Pompa Obituary

POMPA, KENNETH F., 77, Northern Cambria, passed away November 17, 2024, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born March 19, 1947, in Spangler, the son of Frank L. and Vera E. (Bailey) Pompa.  Preceded in death by parents and brother, Frank Pompa.  Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Gale (Campbell) Pompa; daughter, Kristy, wife of Paul Henderson, Gardeners, PA; son, Kenneth A. Pompa, Northern Cambria; and five foreign exchange daughters, Kyoko, Tomoko, and Chie, all from Japan; Anja, from Germany; and Jacqueline (Jack), from the Philippines.  Brother of Rocco “Rocky” (Tanya) Pompa, Northern Cambria; and Jamie (Gary) Trybus, Ohio.  He will also be missed by his three dogs, Rascal, Darby and Becca.   Ken was a proud US Navy Veteran who served as the postal clerk on the USS Tattnall, a guided missile destroyer.  Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he served many years as an usher.  Retired Licensed Practical Nurse who worked 25 years at Laurel Crest Manor.  Ken’s passion was his music and playing guitar alongside bandmates, Denny and Jerry for many years.  They spent years entertaining at area venues and were well known for their classic rock renditions.   Family and friends will be received from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Military honors will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Fr. Mark Groeger officiating.  Interment, Our Lady of Mt.
