SALTZGIVER, LARRY E. SR., 79, Patton, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on May 1, 2025, at HAIDA Health Care. Born December 28, 1945, in Spangler, the son of John and Mary (Litzinger) Saltzgiver. Preceded in death by parents; and loving wife of 53 years, Wilma Lee (McGary) Saltzgiver, who died November 16, 2021. Survived by daughter, Mary, wife of James Wylie, Northern Cambria; sons, Larry “Heck” Saltzgiver, husband of Kerry (Mitory), Northern Cambria and George Saltzgiver, fiancé of Sherri Balzano, Patton; grandchildren, Jimmy Wylie, Casey (Tom) Price, Amanda (Ryan) Shaffer, Bryan (Sarah) Saltzgiver, Katie (Brandon) McIntyre, Geordin (Kenny) Nagle; and great-grandchildren, “little’ Jimmy, Destiney, Deseray, Madison, Hunter, Abby, Jestyn, Owen, Paisley, Celina, Elijah, and Kiersten. Retired Coalminer from BethEnergy Mine 33. Larry was a US Army Veteran. He worked several years for ConRail before entering the coal mines and eventually retired from Bethlehem Mine 33. Larry was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He looked forward to family gatherings and holiday celebrations where everyone could be together. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, sitting on his swing watching the birds, rides around the lake, and going for ice cream. He was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins. He will be deeply missed by all. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until time of military service at 4:00 p.m. at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Military honors by local organizations.
