Marie Antoinette Farrell, 85, Loretto, went to be with our Lord February 16, 2024. Born January 17, 1939, in Nicktown, the daughter of Thomas and Marie (Miller) Kirsch. She is survived by her husband John Farrell; daughters Debra (Jerry) Clark, Donna (Thomas) Mitchell, all of Delaware, Denise (Robert) Gilman of Australia, Diana (Brian) Gresko of Loretto; grandchildren James (Cathleen) Borruto, April (Michael) Bullen, Nathan (Regina) Mitchell, Steve (Ariela) Mitchell, Julie (Hunter) Unruh, Gabriel Gresko, Michaela (Joseph) Hudak, Jacqueline and Ned Gilman; great grandchildren Riley, Aubrey, Isabella, Bryce, Alex, Jack, Matthew, and Lilah; sister Janet (Kirsch) Rubus, and sister-in-law Bernice Kirsch. Preceded in death by parents; siblings Clyde and Sue (Easly) Kirsch, Ralph and Helen (Bodek) Kirsch, Charles Kirsch, Eileen (Kirsch) and Walter C. Dumm, Joan (Kirsch) and Henry Dumm, and Richard (Janet) Rubus. She was an avid nature lover and camper; she enjoyed flowers/gardening, birds and being outdoors. Her faith was a great motivator for her, and she always kept those close to her in her prayers. She was a founding member of a local prayer group, offering prayers for thousands of individuals. She was a contributing researcher for Bird Book. She was a founding member of the Cambria County Archers Association, which led to many titles and medals. She used a long bow recurved and shot instinctively. She was employed in several retail businesses in the Northern Cambria area, but the majority of her working years were spent at Farrell Lumber Company, the family business. While her work outside the family was remarkable, her best jobs were those of being wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She adored spending time with her family and especially playing games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, at St. Michael’s Basilica, Loretto. Very Rev. Fr. John D. Byrnes celebrant. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery, Northern Cambria.
