MONTELLO, MARTHA E. “Betty”, 98, Northern Cambria, passed away October 17, 2024, at Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg. The last surviving member of the Daniel and Mary (Ashcroft) Magulick family. In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by loving husband of 64 years, James R. Montello, who died July 14, 2014; son, Richard Montello and his wife, Lucinda (Serafin); brothers, Daniel (infant), Stephen, Daniel, Edward and George Magulick; and sister, Margaret Rackovan. Survived by her daughter, Mary Angela, wife of David Eisenhart, Arendsville, PA; grandchildren, Sara, wife of Chad Rentzel, Gettysburg; Kristen, wife of Matthew Weiser, Schwenksville; James P. Montello, husband of Katie, Chambersburg; and great-grandchildren, Dominic, Hunter, Lucy, Aden, Nova, Luna, and Theo. Betty was a 1944 graduate of Spangler High School. She later worked as a secretary in the Spangler medical practice of Dr. Archibald Fees for many years. She was a devout Catholic, and an active member of Holy Incarnation Parish in Marstellar, where she and Jim raised their children guided by their faith. There she was also a Religious Education teacher, donated her time at the church picnic, and cared for and arranged floral displays on the altar. She is now a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Betty was always a gracious host and delighted her family and friends with her excellent culinary skills at social gatherings. She took pride in her appearance and stylish dressing. Shopping and watching football were favorite past times. Above all, her family was her priority, and Betty was happiest in her role as loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was blessed with a long and full life and will be missed by all. Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 811 Chestnut Avenue, Northern Cambria, PA. Fr.
