DRAHNAK, MARY LOUISE (Pavelko), 93, Hastings, passed away May 23, 2025. Born May 1, 1932, in Barnesboro, the last surviving member of the Anthony and Suzanna (Semian) Pavelko family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by loving husband, Andrew Drahnak, who died March 26, 2003; infant daughter, Denise; and siblings, Joseph, Steve, Anthony, Frank, Helen, Anne, Margaret, Cyril “Sid”, and Edward. Survived by children, Ann Marie (Paul) Esachina, Blairsville; Karen (Donald) Geary, Gibsonia; Andrew (Jacqueline) Drahnak, Fort Mill, SC; Debbie (Walter) Snyder, Rochester, NY; Robert (Gwendolen) Drahnak, Glenshaw grandchildren, Lisa, Christine, Matthew, Daniel, Adam, Theodore, Amelia, Erin, Clara; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mary earned her Registered Nurse Diploma from Miners Hospital School of Nursing. She was a dedicated nurse in the Obstetrics Ward for many years. She was a devout catholic and raised her family to be strong in faith. An active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church for many years, Mary served her faith community throughout her life. She was a member of the Parent Teacher Assoc. for Northern Cambria Catholic Schools, served as President of the Ladies Guild, was a member of the church finance council, a eucharistic minister, and choir member. Mary was a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul Ministries working in the Northern Cambria thrift store for more than 20 years. At home, she loved caring for her family, was a wonderful baker, an avid canner and made delicious jelly, often sharing her creations for others to enjoy. Family and friends will be received from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at Prince of Peace Church. Fr. Mark Groeger officiating. Committal, St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Vincent de Paul, 1907 Bigler Ave., Northern Cambria, PA 15714.
