JARVIS, MARY JOYCE, 81, Northern Cambria, passed away February 28, 2024, at home. Born October 6, 1942, in Spangler, the last surviving member of the Allen and Sylvia (Dishong) Flory family. Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Helen (Ken) Saltsman, Louise (James) Lee, Allen (Betty) Flory, and brother-in-law, Richard Jarvis. Survived by loving husband of 60 years, Robert Jarvis, Northern Cambria; son, Wayne (Lynn) Jarvis, Lancaster; daughters, Christine (Michael) Sable, Manheim; Lynn and Frank Roush, Salix; and grandchildren, Taylor (Zach) Farabaugh and Nicholas Jarvis. Her great-granddaughter, Lainey Lynn Farabaugh completed Joyce’s family. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Rose (Bob) Lamer and Theresa Jarvis, and many nieces and nephews who all brought her much joy throughout her life. Joyce was a self-employed beautician in Northern Cambria for more than 58 years, and many lifelong friendships were made at Joyce’s Beauty Shop. She was well respected in the local business community. Always one for taking plenty of photos, she had many albums filled with family memories and special occasions throughout her lifetime. Joyce was a devoted and loving wife and mother, but being a grandmother was her greatest joy. She eagerly looked forward to visits from her grandson, Nicholas, and trips with him to Dairy Queen whenever he was home. She passed down her profession to granddaughter, Taylor, who spent many hours in Mama’s shop as a young girl fixing her Barbie’s hair. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. Family and friends will be received at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3. A prayer service will be held that evening at 6:30 p.m. with Fr. Mark Groeger of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Committal will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
