Lantzy, Mary Alice, 96, Saint Benedict, formerly of Barnesboro, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2020, at Indiana Reginal Medical Center. Born February 14, 1924 in Allport, daughter of Frank P. and Pauline (Guagnano) Matarrese. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband of 69 years, Earl F. Lantzy Jr.; brothers, James and John Vincent Matarrese; sisters Dora Cavoto, Margaret Basile, and Jenny Mattie; and grandson, Matthew Weber. Survived by daughter, Anne M., wife of Daniel Weber, Northern Cambria; son, James Lantzy, husband of Lisa (Thomas), Sterling, VA; grandchildren, Daniel (Kristen), Lori (Scott), Abby (Scott), Katie, Jaimee (Danny), Claire; and great-grandchildren, Marlee and Daniel. Also survived by sister-in-law Ives Matarrese, Florida. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Third Order Secular of Saint Francis, active in the catholic communities and Rosary Makers of Naples, Florida. Mary lived a life of faith and touched the hearts of many. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, painting and making beautiful ceramics. Mary especially enjoyed traveling with her husband, Earl. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she put her family above all. Mary’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Saint Benedict Manor and Indiana Regional Medical Center for the excellent care and love they gave to their mother. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary’s life at a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Chapel. Father Thaddeus Rettger, OSB celebrat. Committal, Our Lady of Mt.
