CHURA, MICHAEL THOMAS, 64, Indiana, passed away April 11, 2025, unexpectedly at his home. Born March 8, 1961, in Johnstown, the son of Alvin and Lena (Stephens) Chura. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Andrew and Alan Chura; sister, Rory Mulraney; brother-in-law, Thomas Dillon; and grandson, Kaleb Barth who passed on March 1, 2025. Survived by daughters, Misty (William) Dickson, State College; and Lena Chura, Hastings; ten grandchildren, William, Blake, Aubriella, Atticus, and Phoenix Dickson; Shyla, Adalynn and Zoeann Blackie, Lilith and Alexander Polites. Also survived by siblings, Constance “Connie” Chura, Hastings; Terrance “Terry” (Lynnette Smith) Chura, Culpeper, VA; Judith Chura-Suchara, wife of William Suchara, Salisbury Mills, NY; Louis Chura, Hubard, Ohio; Cheryl Hunt, Oahu, HI; Charles Hill, Cherry Tree; and Noah Chura (Amanda Heath), Indiana. Also survived by brother-in-law, Robert Mulraney and ex-wife, Karen (Seal) Romagna. Michael was a proud Airman in the US Air Force. Member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, Hastings, PA and VFW Post 343 Northern Cambria. Michael cherished spending time with his grandchildren, they were his life. He was a very selfless man, always putting everyone needs before his. Michael had a witty sense of humor making everyone laugh at his jokes. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Honoring Michael’s request, there will be no viewing. Family and friends will be received Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., military service will be held at 12:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 12:45 p.m. with Fr. Thaddeus E. Rettger O.S.B., officiating at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Military honors by local organizations. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
