Myrah Louise (Rickard) Rummel passed from this life on January 3, 2025, to her eternal reward in the arms of Jesus whom she had loved and served since she was very young. She was born May 31, 1935, near Cherry Tree, PA. She was the youngest daughter of Wray Ira Rickard and Flora Catherine (Biss) Rickard, and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She married Eugene Clifton Rummel on August 8, 1964, and was the mother of 6 children. Preceded in death by brothers Alvin Spicher, Ralph Rickard, Dean Rickard, Marvin Rickard, Marlin Rickard; sisters Irene (Rickard) Walker, Julia (Rickard) Lockard, Mildred (Rickard) Ermer, Beatrice (Rickard) McCombs, and Daisy (Rickard) Dowell. She is survived by her husband; children, Doris (Dave) Kupetz, Northern Cambria; David (Sheila) Rummel, Cherry Tree; James Rummel, at home; Julia (Terry) Sloan, Ebensburg; Wayne (Julie) Rummel, Smithsburg, MD; and Allen (Nicole) Rummel, Beloit, OH. Prior to marriage, she was employed at the Hillsdale Post Office as a postal clerk. When she neared retirement age, she held various house cleaning jobs and enjoyed the people she worked for. She was a longtime member of Pine Grove Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Arcadia where she was treasurer for many years. After its closing, she became a member of the Wilgus Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Glen Campbell and valued her church family very much. She is well known for her beaded Christmas ornaments which she loved to make and give away as gifts. She adored spending time with the grandchildren that lived near her when they were small, often taking them with her to Stoneboro Camp and on many bus trips. Special thanks to Janice Silverstein & Tracy Weaver who provided help in the home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses, aides, and dietary workers at Miners Hospital who provided excellent care – and to Dr. Matt Devorchak who showed such compassion to her during her final hospital stay. Special thanks to Wilgus Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church for providing access to services via telephone after she was no longer able to attend. This brightened her life very much and will be forever appreciated. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria.
