Nancy J. (Gates) Wilson

WILSON, NANCY J., 80, Glen Campbell, passed away January 5, 2025, in Cherry Tree.  Born April 1, 1944, in Westover, the daughter of Orrin and Daphne (Blake) Gates.   Nancy attended Westover Elementary and Harmony High School.  She married Donald Wilson on July 29, 1961. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Terry, Jeff, Kevin and Arthur Gates; son-in-law, Dan Powers; and great-grandsons, Hunter and Trevor Smarsh.  Survived by loving husband; children, Catherine Wilson and Donald Jr. (Gloria) Wilson, both of Cherry Tree; Victoria Powers, Punxsutawney; David (Stephanie) Wilson, Indiana; grandchildren, Alicia Smarsh, Michael Rushnok, Brittany Powers, Tyler Rushnok, Casey Geer; Maddox Wilson; and six great-grandchildren. Sister of Darlene Weckerly, Janetta Finegan, Lee Ann Weakland, Chalmer Gates, Sandy Rinesmith, Thomas, Robin, and Michael Gates.  Nancy was fiercely dedicated to both her immediate and extended family.  She was always first to offer help to whomever had a need.  She was also passionate about family history and did extensive genealogy research.  In her free time, she enjoyed working on puzzles.  Honoring her wishes, there will be no public visitation or services.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
