Paul Dolges Obituary

DOLGES, PAUL J. "Hoppy"  78, Hastings (Plattsville), passed away July 1, 2025, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  Born May 11, 1947, in Spangler, the son of the late Paul and Veronica “Sally” (Resko) Dolges.   Survived by loving wife of 40 years, Amy (Tenerowicz) Dolges; children, Daniele, wife of Curt Seiss, Takoma Park, MD; Matt Dolges, fiancé Missy Elias, Carrolltown; Jennifer, wife of Derrik Eckenrode, Ashville; Joe Dolges, husband, of Amealea, Bedford; and grandchildren, Josie Depto, Hayleigh Dolges, Kelsey and Drew Eckenrode, Noah Bacorn, and another expected soon. Also survived by brothers Gerald (Laura) Dolges, Nanty Glo and Blane Dolges, Aspers; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Danielle Stauffer, Joe “Butch”, Dan, Nathan (Martha), and Claudia Tenerowicz, all of Northern Cambria; and many nieces and nephews.  Paul will also be missed by his constant companion, Daisy, his beloved Beagle.  Paul was a 1965 Graduate of Northern Cambria High School.  Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Paul was a hard worker throughout his life, beginning his career as a Lineman for Day & Zimmerman.  He later worked in the Johnstown Steel Mills before working as head electrician for all Barnes & Tucker Mines and later their Maintenance Supervisor.  When the mining industry slowed in the area, Paul started Dolges Electric and worked an additional 33 years in the industry.   He loved the outdoors and spent time in the woods whenever possible, both as an avid hunter and fisherman.  More than anything, it was the time he spent with family that was his priority, raising his children with his calm and guiding nature.  Together, with Amy, they adored the grandchildren and the many extended family gatherings they all shared.  He will be deeply missed by all.  Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 4, 2025, 1:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Fr. Mark Groeger officiating.  Committal, St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery.  “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.”
