OLENCHICK, RAYMOND P., 71, Northern Cambria, passed away September 7, 2020, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born March 12, 1949, in Spangler, the son of Frank and Pauline (Strzyz) Olenchick. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Frank “Sonny” and Bernard “Boob” Olenchick; and sister, Connie Hanyok. Survived by loving wife of 51 years, Mary (Whited) Olenchick; sons, Darby, husband of Tina (Bonatesta), Northern Cambria; Todd Olenchick, Northern Cambria; Chad, husband of Theresa (Oliver), Berlin, MD; and daughter, Sally, wife of Chris Dennison, New Freedom, PA; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Joann Barno, East Lake, Ohio. US Army Veteran and member of Spangler American Legion Post 569. Retired Produce Manager from BiLo Market. Ray loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially his teasing tactics and wedgies. He was involved for many years with Spangler Youth Recreation teaching young athletes as a coach of Pee Wee and Little League Baseball. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and going to camp. Always friendly, Ray could often be spotted riding his tractor to visit with his neighbors. A private service will be held for the Olenchick family at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Interment, East Ridge Cemetery. Military honors by local veteran’s organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ray to Spangler American Legion, 2004 Bigler Avenue, Northern Cambria, PA 15714.
