D’ANDREA, REYNOLD VINCENT., 65, of Hancock MD passed away on September 16, 2024, at the home of his brother Daniel and his wife Kathy in Ashville, PA after a battle with an aggressive cancer. Born June 7, 1959, in Spangler, Reynold was the oldest child of Reynold and Florine (Golmicz) D’Andrea who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister Lisa, wife of Francis X. Kenawell of Annapolis, MD; brother Bill D’Andrea of Philadelphia PA; brother Daniel D’Andrea, husband of Kathy (Johnston) of Ashville, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews. Reynold attended the University of Pittsburgh to study mathematics. He spent some time in the computer industry, assembling microelectronic components for government weaponry and later served as a math teacher at a school for at-risk teens in West Virginia. He did more than teach math here, as he was able to connect and mentor students on a level only accessible by someone with an ability to empathize with them. Reynold’s happy place was the golf course. He lived for deer season and the traditions that surrounded it and greatly enjoyed vegetable gardening. Reynold loved very, very deeply— with tight bear hugs that almost hurt sometimes. He stayed close to his mother, Florine, caring for her for many years after his father Reynold’s passing. Family and friends will be received from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2024, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where prayer services will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
