BOGUS, RICHARD J., 71, Carrolltown, passed away October 22, 2025, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born August 16, 1954, in Cambria Co., the son of late John A. and Mary A. (Weiwora) Bogus. Survived by loving wife of 46 years, Linda (Kutchman) Bogus of Carrolltown; daughter, Jennifer (Corey) Halajcio of Pittsburgh; grand puppies, Shanti, Molly, Penny & Boomer. Also survived by brother, John D. (Catherine) Bogus of Maryland; and sister, Connie (John) Leonard of Lancaster. And numerous nieces & nephews. Richard was a devoted family man. His greatest joy in his life was spending time with his wife and daughter. Richard loved fiercely and deeply. Most people rate accomplishments on how many assets are acquired in a lifetime, but Rich's generous, considerate nature truly made the world a brighter & better place. He wasn't just a dad to Jenny & Corey, but to every one of her friends, cousins, or anyone who needed a loving ear to listen. His compassion was a gift. He always put family first. He worked & cared for his elderly parents, supported his wife & daughter, and never asked for anything in return. He was a religious man who said his prayers for his family & himself every morning. He was also a Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Carrolltown. He never went a day without saying, "Be Safe, Drive careful, Love you." Rich was an incredibly intelligent hard hard-working man. A Graduate of Catholic University, Washington, D.C, in Business & Accounting. He returned to Carrolltown to assume ownership of the family business, The Bogus Mink Farm. Later in life, Richard enjoyed watching and feeding his hummingbirds, talking to Jenny multiple times a day, babysitting his grand puppies, having morning coffee with Linda, watching his favorite television shows, & deeply loved his faithful grand puppy Mowgli, who preceded him in death. Rich was a humanitarian who believed in equal rights for everyone, such as affordable health care, food assistance programs & an economy that supports everyone. The world is a little less bright without his warm and kind smile every passing day. Family and friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria and beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at St. Benedict Church with funeral mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Fr.
