SLAVIK, RICHARD D., 85, Northern Cambria, passed away March 12, 2023, at home. Born October 27, 1937, in Spangler, the son of Stephen and Mary (Gonos) Slavik. Preceded in death by parents, and brothers, Fr. Stephen Slavik and Michael Slavik. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Mary E. (Janosko) Slavik; daughters, Dr. Gretchen (Dwayne) Platt, Somerset; Andrea (Justin) Fennell, Ford City; Christine (John “JD”) Schirato, Salix; Julianna Slavik, Somerset; Stephanie (Steven) Boucher, Frederick, MD and grandchildren, Andrew, Ethan, Caleb, Benjamin, Lillian Christopher, Addison, Alexander, Victoria, and Nicholas. Also survived by a sister, Barbara Slavik, Alexandria, VA. US Army Veteran. Retired Right of Way Administrator for the Commonwealth of PA. Member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and an active volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Society for many years. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB, celebrant. Committal, St. Bernard Cemetery.
