HNATKOVICH, RICHARD J. “Dick”, 68, Patton, passed away February 7, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 4, 1957, in Spangler, the son of George and Elizabeth (Fletcher) Hnatkovich. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Tom and Bob Hnatkovich; sisters, Carol and Elizabeth Hnatkovich; and sister-in-law, Christine Hnatkovich. Survived by loving wife of 47 years, Wanda M. (Strittmatter) Hnatkovich; children, Brian (Stephanie) Hnatkovich, Coalport; Jennifer (John) Eckenrod, Ebensburg; and Julie (Lee) Fitzpatrick, Colver; grandchildren, Michaela, Brianna, Caroline, Clare, Amelia, Cole, Zachary, Drew, and Leyah. Brother of, Michael (Maureen) Hnatkovich, Massachusetts; George (Charlene) Hnatkovich, Altoona; Jim Hnatkovich, Hastings; Ray (Rose) Hnatkovich, Georgia; Sue Hnatkovich, Hastings; and Laura (Jack) Haggerty, Hastings. Also survived by special family members, Cathy (Sam) Vescovi; Bill (Deb) Strittmatter, and Fred (Cheryl) Strittmatter and special friend, Sharon Murphy. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Throughout his life, Dick worked in several fields, retiring from Greenwich Collieries as a coal miner. He later continued his career at Creative Pultrusion in fiberglass production and at DelGrosso Food Inc., in food processing. In his free time, he enjoyed mowing grass, taking long walks with his dogs, Luna and Shadow, and spending time in his kitchen cooking. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, and on Monday, February 16, 2026, in the St. Boniface Wimmer of St. Benedict Church, Carrolltown, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Father Michael Gabler, O.S.B., celebrant.
