MALICKY, RICHARD J. “Dick”, 85, Northern Cambria, passed away December 19, 2020, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born September 10, 1935, in Spangler, the son of Bernard and Anna Malicky. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Paul and Bill Malicky; sisters, Helen Lobick and Nancy Krumenacker; son-in-law, George Cunliffe; and great-grandson, Samuel Hasson. Survived by loving wife, of 59 years, Marlene (Horinek) Malicky; children, Richard (Carman) Malicky, Jersey Shore; Kevin (Nicki) Malicky, Altoona; Gwen (Tony) Veltri, Mercer; Shelly Cunliffe, Dixonville; Tracy (John) Wenturine, Nicktown; Geri (Brent) Dubose, Haymarket, VA; Carol (Mike) Armstrong, Creekside; Deanna (Nick) Hasson, Northern Cambria; and Mandy (Rob) Hasson, Nicktown; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Dorothy Dercotch, Northern Cambria; and his devoted dog LaLa. US Air Force Veteran. Formerly employed as a coal miner with Barnes & Tucker Mines and Greenwich Collieries; and later worked as a custodian for Northern Cambria School District. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Former Fire Chief of Spangler Volunteer Fire Company. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass to be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, at Holy Cross Chapel. Fr. Matthew Baum officiating. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery. Military honors by local veteran’s organizations.
