Richard "Rick" A. Sodmont

SODMONT, RICHARD ALLEN, “Rick” 58, died peacefully at his home in Hastings, on the morning of November 20, 2023.  Born April 3, 1965, in Spangler, the son of David and Helen (Weakland) Sodmont.  Preceded in death by father.  Survived by mother, Helen Sodmont, Hastings; loving wife of 34 years, Tina (Prevost) Sodmont; children, Stephanie, wife of Duane Abrams, Hastings; Robin, wife of Michael Kaufman, Hollsopple; Jessica, wife of Connor Kennedy, Moon Township; Jacob Sodmont, husband of Tiffany, Cresson; and grandchildren, Kayden, Amelia, and Jack Abrams, with another on the way.  Brother of Ronald (Janet) Sodmont, Hastings; Donna (Jeff) Steakley, Sarasota, Fl; Randy (Carol) Sodmont, Ebensburg; and Chris (Patty) Sodmont, Patton.  Rick was a 1983 graduate of Northern Cambria High School.  He was employed as an electrician most recently for Arrow Electric.  Rick was a passionate preacher, spreading the news of the gospel and the love of Jesus to countries around the world through his ministry, Humble Heart Life Ministry.  He served as an Associate Pastor at Life Church in Ebensburg.  Rick loved hunting and spending time in the woods near his Potter County family camp, God’s Country Cabin.  He loved watching football, always cheering for the Northern Cambria Colts, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  His favorite players to watch were his son, Jacob, and his grandson, Kayden.  Rick served the Lord faithfully all the days of his life, never losing hope even while battling cancer for years.  He was a true testament of faith and perseverance and is now spending eternity in Heaven with Jesus.  Family and friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2023, at Crossroads Alliance Church, Ebensburg.  Pastors Chris and Patty Sodmont officiating.
