It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rita M. Kirsch, age 87 of Sheffield Lake. Wife of Ronald for 65 years; mother of Cheryl Gabanic (John), Dale Kirsch, Denise Kirsch and the late Tom Kirsch; grandmother of Jeremy, Jessica, Maureen, Melanie, David and Katie; great grandmother of 8; sister of Ruth Farabaugh (deceased), Dorothy Abel (Clair), William (Ruth), Jean Kennealy (Joseph, deceased), Rev. James Angert, T.O.R., Teresa Kline (deceased), Donna Couturiaux (Frank), Paul, Mildred Bodenschatz, Edward (Christine), Eileen Deimler (Tom, deceased), David (Bonnie), Shirley Yeager (Robert). Rita was born and raised in Hastings, PA. She passed away on August 8, 2022 in her Sheffield Lake home. Rita will be remembered for her deep faith, being a charter member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Sheffield Lake and her love of volunteering with various church and school groups. Rita was known to enjoy her daily doses of coffee and ice cream! She was adventurous in her travelling to visit relatives in her younger days and even ventured to Europe with her sisters. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 715 Harris Road, Sheffield Lake, OH 44054 or to St. Nicholas Parish, 1169 Alverda Road, Nicktown, PA 15762. Friends may call the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 4-8pm. Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 10am. Family and Friends will also be received on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Moriconi Funeral Home, 1303 Bigler Avenue, Northern Cambria, PA 15714. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 1pm. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery, 3239 Blue Goose Road, Nicktown, PA.
