Robert P. Merkle Sr.

MERKLE, ROBERT P., SR., 81, Carrolltown, formerly of Allentown, passed away June 27, 2025, at Haida Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Hastings.  Born May 3, 1944, in Allentown, the son of the late Paul and Arlene (Zettlemoyer) Merkle.  Survived by children, Robert P. Merkle, Jr., of Kentucky; and Robin Merkle, of Carrolltown; grandchildren, Savannah Merkle, John and Sherry Emerson, all of Kentucky.  Robert was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.  After his military service, he began a career as a truck driver before later working in maintenance at the Allentown Fairgrounds.  He enjoyed spending time fishing and playing Rummy, a favorite card game.  At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation or services.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, handling all arrangements.
