PASTIRKO, ROBERT J. “Bob”, 93, Northern Cambria, passed away February 13, 2025, at the home of his daughter in Marion Center. Born June 13, 1931, in Spangler, the last surviving member of the Michael and Elizabeth (Uzaros) Pastirko family. In addition to his parents and siblings, Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose (Scalise) Pastirko, on October 5, 2018. Survived by daughter and caretaker, Renee, wife of Kirby McKee, Marion Center; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Daisy, who was his constant companion. Bob was a graduate of Barnesboro High School. US Army Veteran of the Korean War where he served as a military police officer and a cook. He was a life member of American Legion Post 508, Barnesboro. Bob retired after working many years as an Insurance Agent while serving as a local magistrate. Member of former St. Edward’s Catholic Church, now Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Northern Cambria, where he was the Director of Religious Education. Former member of Knights of Columbus, Cresson. The local community was important to him, and he was active as a member of the Board of Directors of Veteran’s Ambulance Association and a member of Hope Fire Company. He remained active through the years and enjoyed spending time working in his yard. He was blessed with the friendship of his wonderful neighbors, Ron and Lida Hood, who graciously helped him in many ways. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, at Prince of Peace Church. Committal, St. John’s RC Cemetery. Military honors by local veteran organizations.
