BECKER, RONALD E., 92, Northern Cambria, passed away October 13, 2024, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born April 27, 1932, in Spangler, the last surviving member of the Augustine and Anna (Springman) Becker family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by these siblings: Robert “Bob” Becker, Duaine Becker, Winfred “Tiny” Becker, Earl Becker, Elaine Criste, Florence Farabaugh, and Frances Kirsch. He is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Proud US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and life member of Spangler VFW Post 7503 and American Legion Post 569. Retired Field Engineer for L. Robert Kimball Associates. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Life Member of NRA. An avid outdoorsman, conservationist and naturalist, Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his retirement, he devoted much of his time and talent to the PA Game Commission for the betterment of area nature programs. He was also an expert gardener, spending his summers tending to his vegetables and plants. Family and friends will be received from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, followed by Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 811 Chestnut Ave., Northern Cambria.
