PRY, SAMUEL E. SR., 85, Cherry Tree, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at the home of his daughter, Tammy Burkey, in Clymer under Hospice care. Born November 21, 1940, in West Decatur, the son of Joseph C. and Beulah (Rowles) Pry. He attended Blue Ball Elementary School in West Decatur and graduated in 1960 from Philipsburg Osceola High School. Sam’s employment consisted of working for the Clearfield Co. Fair Assoc., Trojan Tractor in Batavia, NY, then returning home to work for Stratan Motors of Clearfield, Clerk for Hannum’s Auto Parts, Brown Plumbing, Heating & Sheet Metal, then retiring from Howes Leather of Curwensville in 2003, after 33 years of service. On March 23, 1974, at Calvary Evangelical Church, Cherry Tree, he wed the former Dolores Beck. Sam was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church where he had served as a trustee, council member and head usher. He enjoyed playing his harmonica accompanied with his dear friends, Pastor Mike Knepp and Bill Bott on their guitars and Bill’s wife, Judy Bott, singing. They also enjoyed playing and singing at local nursing homes. In the past he was very active at the Harmony Grange Fair helping with the kiddie tractor pull, selling tickets for all the track events, and along with his wife, Dolores, they acted as security guards at the Exhibition Building. Sam loved the outdoors, spending time fishing and hunting and taking his sons along when they were old enough. He enjoyed the years he served as an umpire for his son’s little league baseball games. Sam is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Betty Lou Mullen; daughter-in-law, Lisa Sybert Pry; and siblings, Bessie (Jick) Brown, Cleda (John) Royer, Sarah (Hollis) Lumadue, Albert (Norma) Pry, David Pry, Kenneth (Carole) Pry, Paul (Dee) Pry, and Richard Pry. Survived by his wife and children, Sharyn (Roger) Dudurich, Ansonville; Sam Jr. (Malinda) Pry, Cherry Tree; Tammy (Shawn) Burkey, Clymer; Darla Pry, Cherry Tree; and Alden Pry, Westover. Also, grandchildren, Eric Dudurich, Justin Dudurich (Megan Fye), Karly Pry, Isaac Pry, Alexa (Jeremy) Birchfield, and Adam Jacobs; great-grandchild, Jace Dudurich; and five step-great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Joseph W. (Sandra) Pry; and sisters-in-law, Darlene Pry and Linda Pry. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. A viewing will be held at Calvary Evangelical Church on Friday, March 6, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jim Smith and Ron Westover are officiating.
