Sandra J. (LaMagna) Katchmer

KATCHMER, SANDRA J., (LaMagna), 80, Northern Cambria, passed January 24, 2021, at Indiana Regional Hospital due to Covid-19.  Born October 19, 1940, the oldest of the seven children of Ralph Sr. and Mary (Grant) LaMagna.  Preceded in death by parents and loving husband of 57 years, Michael Katchmer, who died August 28, 2020.  The mother of five children, Michael Katchmer Jr., Northern Cambria; Joseph Katchmer, Indiana; Julie Katchmer, Mary Beth Katchmer and John Katchmer, all of Northern Cambria.  Also survived by brothers, Michael LaMagna, Duncansville; Ralph LaMagna Jr., Northern Cambria; Sam LaMagna, Chest Springs; and sisters, Sr. Linda LaMagna, CCW, Bellwood; Susan Knapik, Indiana; and Mary Ann Watson, Virginia.  Sandra worked several years as a seamstress at Barnesboro Shirt Factory.  She was a dedicated wife and mother who devoted her whole life to her family.  Self-sacrificing, always to better her children’s lives. She enjoyed reading daily Christian devotions and would often talk about what she learned each day. She taught her children by right example, always teaching everyone around her forgiveness and love, and to start each day new.  She will always be remembered for her gentle loving nature and her beautiful laugh.  She loved music of all kinds and comedy TV shows.  She will be deeply missed by her children, siblings, family, and friends.  Due to ongoing Covid-19 health concerns all services will be private for the immediate family.  Committal, Our Lady of Mt.
