Sandra Lee (Stiles) Krug

KRUG, SANDRA LEE “Sandy”, 75, Nicktown, passed away July 12, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, with her family by her side.  Born November 7, 1948, in Barr Twp., daughter of the late Floyd Sr. and Edythe (Boothman) Stiles.  Survived by loving husband of 57 years, Wayne Krug; children, Dr. Kevin Krug, married to Norma (Smith), Nicktown; Angela, wife of Charles Conaway, York; Eric Krug, married to Shirley (Long), Nicktown; and Nicole, wife of Mark Sewak, Delaware; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Sister of Susan Lieb, Nicktown; Sharon Shultz, Northern Cambria; and Floyd Stiles Jr., Ebensburg.  Sandy worked many jobs throughout the years including working as a potato harvester, several years at Carino Nursery, and a clerk at the Nicktown IGA, but it was her role as homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother that she cherished.  Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society.  She enjoyed being active, friendly and sociable.  She was an enthusiastic softball player and the organizer and leader of the “Lumberettes” a community majorette group for the Nicktown youth.  She enjoyed the company of many friends in her card club and golfing throughout the area.  She loved knitting and making quilts, fishing, and traveling the country in their RV.  Her life was busy and full, but she always had time for the grandchildren who were her greatest joy, watching them play sports and attending all their activities.  She will be deeply missed.  Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc, Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Tuesday, July 16, 2024, St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD officiating.  Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery.
