McNULTY, SHIRLEY C., 88, Nicktown, passed away June 11, 2021, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born May 16, 1933, in Barr Twp., the daughter of Herman A. and Catherine (Kritzer) Kirsch. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband Charles McNulty; daughter, Paula Thorpe; sisters, Marjorie Smego and Maxine Bender; and beloved dog, Sammi. Survived by children, Sally (Jim) McCombie, Nicktown; Sandra Schiebergen, Amstelveen, Netherlands; Janice Williamson, Ebensburg; Linda Showalter, Sarasota, FL; Dr. Larry (Eleanor) McNulty, Pittsburgh; David (Janice) McNulty, Kernersville, NC; Dr. Barry (Diana) McNulty, Canton, OH; Myron McNulty, Spartanburg, SC; and Craig (Jackie) McNulty, State College. 25 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Sister of Sr. Celine Marie Kirsch, RSM, Ronald (Rita) Kirsch, Reginald (Betty-dec.) Kirsch, Zelda (Thomas) Ochocki, Fr. Myron Kirsch, OSB, and Marilyn Kirsch (Frank Cronin). Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown, the Altar & Rosary Society and Legion of Mary. Formerly employed as a Nurses Aid at HAIDA Manor. Shirley was happiest surrounded by her large family, for whom she loved to cook and bake her many specialties, especially her famous bread. She enjoyed having a garden and eating her delicious homegrown tomatoes. An avid sports fan, especially football, she followed many teams and favorite players and never missed a Bishop Carroll football game when her sons were on the field. She had a wonderful sense of humor and provided laughter and fun at family gatherings. Among her siblings, she was the family storyteller who entertained everyone as she brought to life many tales of years gone by and daily events. Shirley was truly the central pillar of the family and will be deeply missed by all. A memorial mass will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northern Cambria Catholic School, Nicktown. Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
