Shirley A. (Elias) Pagano

PAGANO, SHIRLEY A., 87, St. Benedict, passed away February 12, 2025.  Born November 1, 1937, in Spangler, the daughter of Michael and Agnes (Francis) Elias.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Steve R. Pagano Sr.; an infant son; siblings, Mike Elias Jr., Rose Rezk, Betty Freoni, and John Elias.  Survived by children, Dr. Steve Pagano, husband of Tanya (Yarko), Bakerton; Laura Rose, wife of Tim Krug, Loretto; Samuel Pagano, Pittsburgh; and grandchildren, Alyssa, Gianni, Levi, Samantha, Justin, Garrett, Mandi, Madison, and Sammy.  Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown.   In 1963 Shirley and her husband opened Pagano’s Dairy Bar in St. Benedict which they operated for many years.  In 1996 they converted and expanded the building into St. Benedict Manor, a personal care home which is still operated by the Pagano family. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 17, 2025, at St. Benedict Catholic Church.  Fr. Michael Gabler, OSB, celebrant.  Committal, St. Benedict Cemetery.
