BALDACCHINO, SOPHIA, 95, Northern Cambria, passed away peacefully, March 14, 2017, at Bucktail Medical Center, Renovo. Born August 18, 1921, the daughter of Mike and Eva Dobransky. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, James Baldacchino, who died in 1995; daughter, Joann Piscitelli, who died in 1987; and ten brothers and sisters. Survived by son, Phillip Baldacchino, Hammersley Fork, PA; grandchildren, Barbara Piscitelli, South River, NJ; Sue Trybus and Karen Nafus, both of Acworth, GA; great-grandchildren, Ritchie, Elizabeth, Tristan, Sammy and Deanna; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Sophia worked many years at the Barnesboro Shirt Factory before relocating to New Jersey. There she worked 26 years for Johnson & Johnson, retiring in 1987. In retirement she returned to Northern Cambria to be closer to family and friends. She enjoyed baking for her family and sharing her skills as a talented seamstress. Sophie was reliable and dependable, spending her life taking care of others and always being available for those in need. She had a soft heart for animals and enjoyed taking care of any that she came across. Sophie was gifted with a long and healthy life, remaining very independent well into her 90's, enjoying shopping, driving her car and visiting with family and friends. She dedicated her life to others and met challenges with courage, setting a shining example to all who knew her. Friends will be received from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria. An additional viewing will be held Saturday at Prince of Peace Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Fr. Larry Lacovic officiating. Committal, Mt.
