Stephen M. Basista

BASISTA, STEPHEN MARTIN, 88, MD, native of Hastings, passed away June 1, 2024, at Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home.  Born November 14, 1935, in Hastings, the son of Stephen and Anna (Bendzala) Basista.  Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Martha Marie (Bobik) Basista, who died October 31, 2020; and siblings, John Basista and Margaret Chura.  Survived by sons, Christopher (Linda) Basista, Fort Washington, MD; and Kirk Basista, Hastings; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Brother of Helen Storer, MD, Paul Basista, OH and Agnes Endler, VA.  US Air Force Veteran.  Retired Plant Operator for the Blue Plains Water Treatment Facility in Washington, DC.  Honoring his request there will be no public viewing or services.  The Basista family wishes to extend a special thank you to Annecia Clarke, his primary caregiver for many years.  Donations may be made to the Hastings Volunteer Fire Company c/o Stephen Basista Memorial Fund, PO Box 427, Hastings, PA 16646.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc.
