PHILLIPS, STEVE, 85, Northern Cambria, passed away March 23, 2020, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born January 1, 1935, in Emeigh, the son of Metro and Mary (Bucka) Phillips. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Michael Phillips; and sisters, Helen Kochinsky, Elizabeth Marino, Ann Phillips, Margaret LeGars and Mary Gallagher. Survived by wife of 62 years, Mary (Dunchak) Phillips; children, Joni (Tom) Milchak, Hastings; David (Carol) Phillips, Nicktown; Susan (Patrick) Eckenrode, Northern Cambria; and Robert Phillips, Northern Cambria; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Brother of Catherine Woods, Cookport; Agnes Boring, Emeigh; and Nancy Higgins, Ohio. US Army Veteran. Employed many years as the manager of Cambrian Hills Golf Club and also worked at Cambria Medical Supply. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Steve was an avid golfer and a life-long sports fan. Due to current health concerns, a private service conducted by Fr. Matthew Baum was held for the Phillips family at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Final committal, St. John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
