Thelma M. Wilson

WILSON, THELMA M., 93, Cherry Tree, passed away January 31, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.  Born January 1, 1932, the daughter of Charles and Jane (Askew) Woods.  She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Harold Clyde Wilson, who died August 12, 1994; infant son, Larry Rummel; son, Matthew Wilson; stepson, Robert Wilson; and ten siblings.  Survived by children, Rita (John) Barkey, Commodore; John (Carol) Wilson, Carmichaels; James (Mary) Wilson,  Gloria “Jean” Price, Gerald (Debra) Wilson, Betty (Gary) Faught, all of Cherry Tree; Eva Bernecky, Northern Cambria; Cindy (Joe) Urgolites, Hastings;  Beth Wilson (Brian Rackovan), Cherry Tree; step children, Donald Wilson, Glen Campbell; Grace (Paul) Price, Cherry Tree; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister, Marilyn (Larry) Radcliffe, Coalport.  Thelma was a loving mother and the center of her large family.  She cherished family time and had an open door for family, friends and neighbors.  She was a gracious host, and everyone was always welcome to Sunday Dinner!   She cared for her home with pride, worked in her gardens and grew beautiful flowers.  In her spare time she enjoyed quilting and gave many of her pieces to family as gifts which will be treasured.  She was blessed with a long -life journey that was guided by her deep faith and relationship with Jesus.  She was an active member of Garman Church of God and frequent participant of Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Project “Operation Christmas Child”.  She loved her church family as part of her own. Family and friends will be received at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria on Monday, February 3, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.; and beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, with services to begin at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Rick Gamble officiating.  Committal, McDowell Cemetery.
