Theresa M. (Parrish) Yeckley

YECKLEY, THERESA M., 93, Carrolltown, passed away December 25, 2023, at Miners Hospital, Hastings.  Born November 18, 1930, in Spangler, the last surviving member of the Vincent A. and Geraldine (Bearer) Parrish.  Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Leonard D. Yeckley, who died January 28, 2008; brother, Vincent J. Parrish; and son-in-law, Robert Bell.  Survived by son, Gerard (Lisa) Yeckley, Acosta; daughters, Yvonne (Gary) Sowers, Carrolltown; Darlene (Don) Warner, Patton; and Annette (Ron) Holtz, St. Boniface.  Also 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  Formerly employed by Miners Hospital as a Registered Nurse.  Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul.  Theresa enjoyed being active in the local community and was one of the founding members of the John Carroll Area Ambulance Association and was a member of the Carrolltown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.  In her free time, she enjoyed making many types of crafts.  An avid bowler well into her 80’s, she was part of various bowling leagues and only gave up the sport due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Family and friends will be received from 2 – 4  &  6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, and on Thursday, December 28, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Church, Boniface Wimmer room with funeral mass to follow at 10:00 a.m.  Interment church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Benedict Catholic School, Carrolltown, PA.
