LUDWIG, THOMAS R. “Rudy”, 93, Northern Cambria, passed away January 14, 2023, at home. Born July 15, 1929, in Nicktown, the last survived child of the Karl and Anna (Kline) Ludwig family. Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Joan M. (Rackovan) Ludwig, who died August 12, 2014; and siblings, Katherine Reber, Charles Ludwig, Anna “Esther” Bechel, Agnes “Bea” Kirsch, Mary Younger, Paul, Fred, Robert, Francis, and Albert “Stretch” Ludwig. Survived by daughter, Carol, wife of William Cidor, Carrolltown; and son, Mark, husband of Donna (Kirsch), Northern Cambria; grandsons, Andrew (Katrina), Richard, Matthew, & Karl Cidor, Zachary (Becky), Mark (Monica), Evan (Taylor), Joel & Ethan Ludwig; and great-grandsons, Daniel, Samuel, and John Ludwig. US Army Veteran and member of Spangler American Legion Post 569 and VFW Post 7503. Retired Steel Mill worker. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Northern Cambria. Member of Young Men’s Polish Legion and Patton Eagle’s. “Rudy” loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was happiest spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing the lottery. Family and friends will be received from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, at Prince of Peace Church. Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD officiating. Committal, St. John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Military honors by local veteran’s organizations.
