KLINE, URBAN “Herk”, 90, Nicktown, passed away March 29, 2020, at home. Born September 2, 1929, in Susquehanna Twp., the son of Urban and Genevieve (Feighner) Kline. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Francis “Jim” Kline; and daughter-in-law, Christine Kline. Survived by loving wife of 68 years, Lou Ann (Kirsch) Kline; children, Gregory (Paula Jo) Kline, Northern Cambria; Wayne Kline, Carrolltown; Patrick (Regina) Kline, Beverly (Ronald) Sherry, Theresa (Frank) Dumm, all of Nicktown; Anne (George) Miers, Royersford; and Daniel (Carrie) Kline, Northern Cambria. 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Mary Grace Karlheim, Patton; and many nieces and nephews. A 1948 graduate of Spangler High School. Herk served several years in the National Guard during the Korean War. Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Legion of Mary and Holy Name Society. A lumberjack all his life, Herk worked for Farrell Lumber and Wenturine Lumber Companies. He also operated his own business, Kline’s Sales & Service where he was well known for his ability to repair power saws and equipment, still working in his shop last spring. Always concerned for the local community, Urban was one of the founders of Veterans Memorial Ambulance Assoc. and has been a member of Nicktown Fire Co. since its origination. Volunteer for more than 40 years with Boy Scouts of America, Penns Woods Council, who awarded Herk Volunteer of the Century in their five county area. Above all else, he was devoted to his family, his wife, children and grandchildren, sharing his deep faith in God to guide his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Due to current health concerns, a private service will be conducted for the Kline family with Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD. Committal, St. Nicholas Cemetery. Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements. A memorial mass will be scheduled at a future date.
