GALLAHER, VERONICA “Babe”, 81, HAIDA Manor, Hastings, passed away June 2, 2024. Born July 10, 1942, in Spangler, the last surviving member of the John and Leona (Ponchock) Gallaher, family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Della Rose “Honey” Kibler, Josephine “Dodie” McCombs, Mary Ida Thomas, John Gallaher and Robert Gallaher; nephew, Christopher McCombs, and niece, Leah (Kibler) Vella. Survived by brother-in-law, Furl McCombs, Glen Burnie, MD; nephews, James Kibler, Flinton, PA; Joseph (Christa) Kibler, Patton, PA; David (Missy) McCombs, Glen Burnie, MD; Robert (Amy) McCombs, Bel Air, MD; nieces, Lisa (Jose) Kibler-Puebla-Tarilonte, Fort Washington, MD; Shellye (Gary) Witt, Pasadena, MD; Wendy (Craig) Hammel, Millersville, MD; and special “nephew-in-law”, Mario Vella, Northern Cambria, PA; also numerous cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. Babe devoted her life to caring for others, her parents, her siblings, nieces, nephews, and neighbors. She enjoyed walking, nature, gardening, crossword puzzles and coloring. Despite the challenges posed by Alzheimer’s, her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will always shine on, never dull, in the lasting impact she has made on her family and friends throughout her selfless life. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown. Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD officiating. Committal, St. Benedict Cemetery.
