Wayne L. Hockenberry

HOCKENBERRY, WAYNE L., 74, Hastings, passed away August 29, 2024, at Miners Medical Center.  Born May 23, 1950, in Spangler, the son of Chester and Roberta (Lewis) Hockenberry.  Preceded in death by parents and brother, Melvin.  Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Sally (Westover) Hockenberry; sons, Jason Hockenberry, Michael Hockenberry, Bryan (Courtney) Hockenberry, all of Hastings; and grandchildren, Landon, Hunter, and Ryleigh.  Brother of William (Susan) Hockenberry, Hastings; Kathy (Robert) Dubos, Jean (Edward) Savage, both of Westover; and Cindy (Mark) Harosky, Belle Vernon.  Retired custodian for Cambria Heights School District.  Previously employed as a coal miner for Barnes & Tucker Co.   Wayne was a hard worker throughout his life and always willing to lend others a hand.  He enjoyed working on cars.  But above all, he was happiest spending time with his family and enjoying the grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed.  Honoring his wishes there will be no viewing or services.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
