William Edward Cence

CENCE, WILLIAM EDWARD “Ed”, 81, Northern Cambria, passed away May 16, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born October 14, 1943, in Spangler, the son of Leroy and Syvilla (Eckenrode) Cence.  Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Margaret Yeager, “Sis” Weakland, Jean Burkhart, June Skitka, Georgia Fife; and brothers, Earl, Jim, Dick, William, Pat, and Ray Cence.  Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Bonnie (Zaliznock) Cence; daughter, Tammy, wife of Randy Sherwin, Moon Twp.; son, John Cence, husband of Melonie, Emeigh; and grandchildren, Jake and Bret Sherwin.  Also survived by brother, Leroy Cence, Westover; and sisters, Carol Dotts, Carrolltown; and Joyce Deadea, Chicago.  Retired coal miner having worked for Greenwich Collieries and Barnes & Tucker Co.; he was also the owner of Cence’s Auto Body for many years.  Honoring Ed’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services.  Committal, North Barnesboro Cemetery.
