Obituary
SHIRK, WILLIAM E. SR., 74, Patton, passed away March 7, 2023, at UPMC Altoona Hospital. Born June 26, 1948, in Waynesburg, the son of the late James and Ruby (Johnson) Shirk. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Kathleen (Grossman) Shirk, and sons, William Shirk Jr., and Jeffrey (Kate) Shirk, both of Pittsburgh. US Navy Veteran and member of the Legion Riders Chapter of the Carrolltown American Legion Post 506. Life member of Coalport VFW Post 7043 and Patton Moose. Retired pipefitter for Elliott Turbo Machinery. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and his country life. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria where a service with military honors will begin at 6:00 p.m.
