Obituary for Irvin Ronald Lutz

LUTZ, IRVIN RONALD, 79, Northern Cambria, passed away September 22, 2018. Born April 1, 1939, in Barnesboro, the son of Ronald G. and Sarah M. “Dolly” (Crago) Lutz. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Annette Mary (McQuaid) Lutz; son, Ronald “RJ” Lutz; and his beloved dog, Suz. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Trudy (Shearer) Lutz; daughter, Missy (Chris) Moreau, Maine; grandchildren, Conor, Courtney, Kaleigh, and Keegan; brother Earl (Pat) Lutz,; niece, Tessa (Eric) Maurer.; nephew, Chad(Liz) Lutz all of Texas; brother-in-law Jim (Carol) Shearer,; niece, Christy (Curt) Nichols all of S.C.; and special niece, Patty (Kerr) Doherty (Sean), New Hampshire, who Ron called his angel because she donated a kidney to his son. Ron also has extended family in Maine, Arizona, and Florida that will miss him dearly. Ron was a US Navy Veteran, he met his first wife while stationed in Brunswick, Maine. He was lucky enough to find another love, Trudy, in his hometown. Ron worked for Barnes and Tucker Mining Company and Tanoma Mining Company and he was a member of the UMWA for more than 50 years. He was also a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Northern Cambria. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman. Until recently he was a member of Cambrian Hills Golf Course where he enjoyed and loved playing golf until the end. Ron was able to golf year-round spending time in Tucson and Northern Cambria. Ron was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00p.m. Tuesday September 25, 2018 at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria PA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church. Military honors by local veterans’ organizations. Private interment in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer or Kidney Foundation in his name. A special thank you to the staff at Conemaugh Memorial 9th floor of Ashman Rose Pavilion, 4th floor Good Samaritan Building, Cambria Care Center and 365 Hospice.
